The three essentials (needed for every sermon) to sermon writing.
Every once in a while, you need to relaunch. This is one of those times. I am relaunching this blog (a new post about life, church, faith, etc, every Thursday), and I am also relaunching the ongoing features of this website to include a new blog of reflections on the upcoming Sunday's lectionary passages. Each week's entry, posted on Tuesdays (although this week's is up already) in this new blog will be, ultimately, an online edition of a small slice of my sermon writing process...containing thoughts, questions, wonderings, word studies, historical/cultural context, links to websites with good information. And, each week, the reflections contained in the Lectionary Reflection blog may or may not show up in my sermon the following Sunday. It's actually kind of fun to see how close or how far off my original thoughts the Holy Spirit takes me.
