Southern Heights Presbyterian Church is a vibrant faith community currently seeking qualified individuals for the following position:

POSITION TITLE: Musician/Accompanist


Southern Heights Presbyterian Church, Lincoln, Nebraska is currently seeking an Organist/Pianist for a permanent part time (approximately 10 hours per week) position.

A qualified candidate will be responsible for leading and supporting the congregation in the singing of hymns and responses; working with and accompanying the Choir in rehearsals and in regular services and additional special services as scheduled throughout the church year, including but not necessarily restricted to: Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, and Easter Sunrise Service; and facilitating corporate worship by providing appropriate additional service music. In addition to these duties, the SHPC Organist/Pianist will generally play for weddings and funeral services held at Southern Heights.  Compensation for this service is in addition to salary.

This person must have an understanding of and be able to support the vital role of music in the worship and life of the church.  Applicants must be able to work collegially with staff, outside musicians, choir and members of the congregation.

Applicants must have a music related Bachelors Degree and a minimum of 2 years successful experience as an organist/pianist.  Prior successful experience (minimum four years) and demonstrated proficiency can be substituted for degree.

Salary dependent on experience.
